Menigioma is a benign tumor commonly found in females.
Complaints of the patient can be varying from mild headache to loss of vision.
It depends upon where the meningioma arise, it can be a simple operation to very complicated one.
Meninigiomas have been graded as
Grade 1- Commonest meningioma and practically no recurrence if it is removed completely
Grade 2- There are good chances of recurrence despite complete removal
Grade 3- There are very high chance of recurrence despite complete excision
Treatment options-
1. Close observation- This has been offered to the patients where tumors are found incidentally, or tumor size is very small i.e. less than 2cm.
2. Microsurgery- Advisable to the patients where tumor is moderate to large in size, and causing pressure symptoms.
3. Radiation- Advisable to Grade 2 and 3 tumors as an adjuvant
1 Convexity Meningioma-
42 Yrs lady presented with adult onset seizures.
Clinically no deficit
MRI Brain showed right parietal meningioma. Pic 1 and 2
Underwent Craniotomy and excision.
